Here I take time out from my obsession with color and texture, fiber of one sort or another, and indulge in my obsession with computers. I am not sure it is such a great thing, this spilling forth of one's thoughts online for others to peruse, critique, scorn, or even agree with... what if MY blog is deemed "the end of the internet"? Laughing, I say this as I add to the flotsam and jetsam that is glutting the cyberwaves; I've avoided it for quite a while.
Increasingly, however, I have friends and acquaintances all over the world, this new "small" world, and it seems easier to keep in touch and share our lives through blogs. Certainly, I've read with interest, and great appreciation, the blogs of those I know, those I wish to know, and those who generously shared information when I was searching... perhaps I can contribute in some small way in the future? Thus, I give in to the trend, and begin my own. I have to admit, so far, the hardest thing was trying to come up with a name for the thing! What's in a name? AH.... that could be another digression... I'll save that for another day. But as my home is full of fiber of every sort, it seems, as well as color, color, color... fibergasm seemed to fit, and it was one of the only things I thought of that hadn't been claimed yet!
I dream in color. I spend my days in color, texture, and the joy of watching natural color and texture developing in the world around me. Anyway, this is a first post... and I'll have more to say later. I still have to create some sort of "about me" thing, too, apparently... then there will have to be some serious tweaking with the HTML settings for this blog. I had to choose a template, and it seemed more reasonable to me that the links and menus be on the LEFT, not the RIGHT, side of the virtual page... but this seems to be a less popular option. Ah well, what can I say? I am left-handed, as well, LOL... but let this serve for now. I've no idea whether I am violating some rules by saying the wrong things, or leaving things out that ought to be said, in a first blog post. Ha! Well, serves you right, those who read this before I have anything even minimally interesting to say... Hello there, anyway! :)
It's December 5, 2006, and I've started a blog before the end of the year. It remains to see how well I will keep at it. Better get some pictures taken to share, and soon! Hopefully, I'll be much improved soon, for my own sake, if no one else's.
